Demanding Political and Social Protest against Sexual Harassment
Strong political commitment by the political leaders and members of the youth organizations are essential to Change the attitudes to think a women is also a human being, which also help to stop eve teasing and other sexual harassment to the young teenage and women. It is alarming for us eve teasing and sexual harassment become serious social crime amongst our society. Many young women become stop to goes school, collage and work places due to sexual harassment. Political organization works for the whole community where 50% are women. If 50% population forces to stop their normal mobility, the whole community will loses to get progress of the community and advancement of the nation will hamper. If the women’s mobility become stop, the advancement process will stop down. So, the political leaders should raise awareness of the bad impact of the sexual harassments and eve teasing to their supporters, young teenagers and whole community. The political leaders also need to train on about the danger situation of the sexual harassments. Sexual harassments are now not only social issue it also a political issue and all the progressive parties have to works to change the behavior and attitudes towards women. These were said by the speakers at the road march and gathering at various spots of the Chakaria Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district. The Road Show is organized to raise demand political social protest against sexual harassments to mark the International Fortnight on Violence Against women (VAW) on last 15th December. ISDE Bangladesh with the association with local Upazila administration, Upazila Social Entrepreneur Council and Women Activist Group organized the events.

The Road Show (Sanghati Jatra) is inaugurated by the local freedom fighter and central leader of Bangladesher Workers Party Haji Bashirul Alam, amongst others Chairperson Upazila Women Activist Group and women leader Umme Kushum Minu, women leaders Lannatul Bakeya Rekha, Awami league leaders S M Manjur Hossain, Students leader Ashikur Rahman, teacher of BN School and Collage Ekramul Hoque, Sindabab Kamal, Labi Das from Chakria Sangit Nikton lead the road march. Among other Giash Uddin, Progarmme Manager, Sk Azad Kamal Tipu assisted the march.

The road march going round the various parts of the Upazila and conducted cultural functions, gathering and street meetings. The local political leaders, teachers, journalist, students and youth leaders, women leaders, local UP Chairman, members shows their solidarity about the demands. Some of them are took part in the road procession, human chain. Later is the road march finished at the Chiringa station Chittagong Cox’s Bazar highway with cultural function.
