Stop Junk Food Campaign was held on the occasion of World Consumer Day 2012

As part of World Consumer Rights Day 2012 celebrations Stop Junk Food campaign and drawing competition was held at YWCA School, Lalkhan Bazar, poda colony, Chittagong on 15th March many disadvantaged children were take part the campaign and drawing competition. Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection and Consumer Association of Bangladesh(CAB) Chittagong Divisional and City Committee jointly organized the events.

CAB Central EC member & President CAB Chittagong S M Nazer Hossain, Deputy Director of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection Zuber Ahmed, school teacher Sweety Gomes, Nioti Gomes, Rosina Akhter, CAB City leader Jane Alam, MA Monayem Bappi, Salma Akhter Shila, Hamida Khanom Rupa also take part the discussions while CAB CTG Project Organizer Jahurul Islam moderated the campaign discussion session.

Speakers urges the participants to stop junk food, adulterate food which is harmful for young generation and make awareness raising to stop junk food marketing. They also demanding control the unethical advertising and marketing of junk food by the multination business groups and their marketing promotion. Speakers demanding serious punishment to business gang who will marketing and promoting adulterate child food, toxic food for children and ensure pure food act ordinance to stop junk & toxic food promotion in Bangladesh.
