Promote rural traditional practice and culture to climate Change Risk and Hazardous

A portion of the community destroy the traditional best practice, culture and tradition in the name of modernization and urbanization as result agricultural production, fisheries, livestock and food securities situation going to vulnerable condition.  Peoples losing their own culture and tradition and which are their own pride and originality.  Natural resource and practice is going to destroy due to climate change in the developed countries including developing and least developing countries. People migrated to city in the name of modernization and become more dependence to the machinery. Modern equipment destroyed the traditional norms, practices and culture. Due to urbanization peoples leave methane gas which is serious harmful for human health and environment living condition going more vulnerable for human being to live. Finally it destroy the natural resources, fish, agriculture production, nature works abnormally if the rain start, there is no breaks and raining happen in non season, temperature is going higher, sea levels raising higher day by day. If we promote the traditional good practices nature must be supportive to human being. 


These were stayed at the open session of the 3 days Rural Livelihood Fair at Chakaria Bijoy Mancha on last 26 April 2013. The theme of the fair is; Prepared now for climate change adaptation! Comprehensive agrarian reform for food security, employment generation and economic growth! ISDE Bangladesh with Chakaria Upazila Administration, Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihood (CSRL) is jointly organized the 3 days Rural Livelihood Fair 1420.

A colorful rally was organized and march passed to the main street at the Chakaria and the fair is inaugurated by the ex Mayor of Chakaria Municipality M Zaafr Alam. Chakaria Upazila Parishad Chairman Rezaul Karim was chief guest at the inauguration session. Acting Upazila Nirbahi officer Md Al Amin was presided over the function. Mr. Khaled Mizbahuzzaman Professor and ex Director of Institute of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Chittagong was key note speaker amongst others S M Nazer Hossain, Executive Director, 

ISDE Bangladesh, renown political activist and Commander of Chakaria Upazila Freedom Fighter Council Haji Bashirul Alam, Councilor Chakaria Municipality Sayed Alam, Women activist Umme Kuslum Minu, Shahana Begume, Rokeya Begume Beby, Soil scientist of Bangladesh Forest Research Institute M Jahirul Islam, NGO activist Mohammed Noman, TIB representative Mohammed Jashim was took part the discussion.

The activist of the 3 days Rural Livelihood Fair are included documentary film show on climate change, sports competition for rural women and farmers, exhibition of agricultural technology and agriculture, cultural presentation of traditional folk and songs, educational institution based cultural function, 









stall presentation bamboo and cake works, handmade sweets and others traditional items
