ISDE Bangladesh organized Art Competition on Child Rights at Family

Create Social Movement from Family to ensure Child Rights

6^th October 2013 on the occasion of World Children Day and National Child Rights Week Aparajew Bangladesh, EU supported campaign project Civil Society Alliance for Child Rights in South Asia” ISDE Bangladesh with the association of South Asian Alliance of Grassroots NGOs (SAAGN) organized art competition for disadvantaged children on safe food for children at CSDF auditorium, Chandgaon, Chittagong.

Mr. S M Nazer Hossain Executive Director, ISDE Bangladesh was presided over the art competition Ex Board member of Bangaldesh Shishu Audhikr Forum(BSAF) Kazi Iqbal Bahar Sabery, OXFAM Policy Officer Kamrunahar Nazlee, Joint Secretary of Chittagong District Social Entrepreneur, Jane Alam, Principal Prime Cadet School and Collage Md Abu Yonus, Principal Chittagong Laboratory School and College Md Ismail Faroqee, Head Mistress Chandgaon Primary School Krishna Proba Debi, CSDF project Coordinator Shamapa K Nahar, Ishika Foundation CE Jahirul Islam also spoke on the occasion.

Speakers urge the society to ensure family be friendly, secured and safe to their kids, otherwise the society will be unlivable for the children. Due to careless from the family many children diverted to misguide and finally track out. So there is high need to create a positive environment at the family for children for love, affection and development with creativity. Speakers also give importance for safe food for children. In Bangladesh food adulteration is common culture, businessmen involved in unhealthy business making money without taking care of consumers. So, safe food for children is difficult job. Without safe food it is also difficult build a healthy nation. Sometime business community saying they are doing corporate social responsibility but making money through unfair trade. It was founded children food or medicine whatever is not the issues, they have to make profit. So, the speakers urges for making social movement to ensure child rights in the society.

Later the guest distributed prize amongst the winners of art competition. A total 60 students from different government and non government primary schools were take part the art competition

Integrated Social Development Effort (ISDE) Bangladesh is a local non-governmental, non-political, non-religious, voluntary, social development organization working in the southeastern part of Bangladesh, including Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Rangamati, Kagrachari and Bandarban hill districts. ISDE Bangladesh was established in 1992, with the initiation of some like-minded social workers to serve the socio economically depressed & backward groups in the southeastern part of Bangladesh. Its mission is guided by people’s aspirations that significantly contributes in changing the existing socio-economic status of target groups; facilitate the need-based services focusing to reducing gender discrimination and improving environmental status that will yield poverty reduced better life by enhancing people's capacities, initiatives and commitment followed by the principles of human rights, governance, gender and equity. Strengthen effective people’s participation at all stages of program designing, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation harnessing local and external resources that will contribute greatly in sustainable social change. ISDE Bangladesh works in line with Target Group Approach as well as Community Approach followed by the principles of human rights, good governance, gender sensitivity, equity and participation targeting poverty reduction. It gives equal emphasis to ISDE Bangladesh scheduled castes and ethnic groups as target groups. ISDE Bangladesh grew to its present level by responding to the needs of the people. From 1993 ISDE started moving to a more exhaustive approach with resources and financial assistance from a number of development partners. ISDE Bangladesh has been gradually expanding its activities in more remote and neglected areas of the country.
