ISDE Bangladesh organized Public Demonstration and Protest Rally Against Child Abuse
Demanding Social Movement at Family and Society level to Stop Child Abuse

Without creating social movement to ensure CRC at family and society level child rights will not be ensured and children will not be protected their rights from state as well as family. So there is high need to create awareness raising on CRC at family and society level and social movement for child rights. It was founded that child torched, abuse become raise high, domestic workers passing their life with very measurable condition, working children also violating their rights. But peoples have no voice and no actions to resist these types of social crime. Besides child rights and child development activities become commercialization and funding for child rights and development to child focus NGOs diverted to commercialization and contractors and they are making money in the name of child rights protection. The peoples raising voices anti-NGOs concept development models, but some contractors using trade license in the name of NGOs holding most of the local and international fund. So, now the time to resist this types of social crime child rights activities must be child focus NGOs and humanitarian groups and stop commercialization of child rights activities and funding process. There is high need to formulate separate procurement policy for NGOs and non-profit sector in Bangladesh.  These were stated by the speakers on 6th October 2013 on the occasion of World Children Day and Child Rights Week celebration Aparajew Bangladesh, EU supported campaign project Civil Society Alliance for Child Rights in South Asia” ISDE Bangladesh with the association of South Asian Alliance of Grassroots NGOs(SAAGN) organized public demonstration at Chandgaon old police station, Chittagong city corporation.

Mr. S M Nazer Hossain Executive Director, ISDE Bangladesh was presided over the public demonstration, amongst other Central Vice President of Bangladesh Teachers Association Abdul Wahhab Chowdhury, Joint Secretary of Chittagong District Social Entrepreneur, Jane Alam, Monayem Bappi, Women leader Shahen Akhter Beauty, Principal Prime Cadet School and Collage Md Abu Yonus, Principal Chittagong Laboratory School and College Md Ismail Faroqee, Head mistress Chandgaon Primary School Krishna Proba Debi, CSDF project Coordinator Shamapa K Nahar, Ishika Foundation CE Jahirul Islam, Md Asgor Hossain, Mahbubul Islam, Zashim Uddin also express solidarity to the demands.

Speakers shows their anxious regarding increasing rate of child abuse, child violation and exploitation in Chittagong region and civil society people have no voice and child rights organization have no actions. Speakers also demanding set up special tribunal to punish the criminal who are involve in child abuse and crime. They also demanding create an enabling environment towards children at family and society to ensure child rights.

A total of 375 Students from different government and non Government primary schools, teachers, parents also take part the public demonstration and the rally were marched passed to the main street of Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway. Later prize distributed to the winner of the art competition for disadvantaged children held 6th October.
